As a North Vancouver resident, it was awesome to see a bunch of new 'green' markets pop up in the city last summer. This year, it's even more awesome, because Juice Caboose gets to go along for the ride. The first of the four North Shore Green Markets that I'm going to feature here is the Civic Plaza Market. This market is located at west 14th and Lonsdale in front of the City Library. It's a small market but as you can see there is plenty of variety and already in the second week the selection and the passers by is growing. I suspect when the sun is really out that this market will continue to grow. I'm ridiculously in love with the gluten free bakery that is featured at this market. My lunch budget has been set for all future dates though! Could easily spend lots. Not to mention the growing abundance of greens. I wanted to jump in and eat my way out of the kale, cilantro, basil, mint and lettuces. It was the makings of a green smoothie heaven! This market runs from 11 am to 6 pm every Wednesday from now until October which gives all the North Shore folks plenty of opportunity to stop by and shop. Hope to see you out there supporting a wonderful selection of local entrepreneurs. (Other featured vendors include Blueglass Jewelry, Vale Farms and Sudzy Goat.) XO. S
