Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  The sun was gorgeous and summer was here for us!  I had a lovely Mother's Day, at work, but still lovely all the same.  I hit Kitty Nights West Burlesque show with "the Mama's" and had great fun after a busy day of ringing in last minute bouquets and cards at Whole Foods!  

And now for a real treat.  I have a Monday off and C is out until 3 pm.  Sigh.  Kick back my feet, spread out on the lawn chair and bask in a few precious moments of sun and silence.  Oh, if only it could last all day!  Unfortunately it'll have to remain just a few precious moments because...

Market Season is here!!!

AHHHHHH!

The past couple of months have zoomed by since Juice Caboose went back on the road part time but MARKET SEASON is HERE again and things are about to get JUICY!  I have a mostly booked and somewhat double booked season.  I'm doing my best to stay on top of the schedule posted on the Juice Caboose blog and will be updating by Twitter, Facebook and also on the Eat St App which has been updated and is raring to go!  Please follow or Like any of the above for all the latest updates and locations for 2012.

We start off this new season with our favourite spot in Vancouver... Kitsilano Market next Sunday May 20th from 10 am - 2 pm.

Hooray!  

But that's not all for our grand opening for 2012.  Mark your calendars because JC is celebrating its first year in business on Sunday May 27th at the Maplewood Farm Sheep Festival.  THERE WILL BE PRIZES!!!  Stay tuned.

I'm truly excited for this summer and at the same time I'm really nervous.  We are going to be open more days, at new markets, we will be sporting new equipment and selling new products!!! What's not to be excited and nervous about?!?!  XOXO.  S

Sorry for the absence last week.  I'm a real juggler of tasks these days and well, I can't really post about my shifts at Whole Foods or cleaning.  Not so interesting.  But then the weekend comes and... it's Caboosin time!

This past weekend JC was at the Make It The Handmade Revolution and it was AWESOME!  So many great things.  So many great people.  So much great food.  If every event could be like this I would be a happy Cabooser.

~ easter event at maplewood farm ~

We are celebrating our Easter a day early this weekend so that mama bear can hang out with our friends at Maplewood Farm and ensure that every little munchkin and even hopefully the Easter Bunny has something yummy and healthy to drink to go with all those chocolate eggs!  For all the details check here at the Juice Caboose blog.  XO.  S

~ the ultimate compliment ~

Yesterday while I was working as a cashier at Whole Foods someone called into the Guest Services desk asking if the Juice Caboose would be there again that day.  One of my coworkers referred to this as the 'ultimate compliment'.  I have to agree.

And although I didn't reach my goal for sales on Saturday we still surpassed our sales from the last event and in the end Juice Caboose created a total of 6 microcredit loans for the Whole Planet Foundation.  I'm very proud and excited to have had this opportunity.  I learned a lot about what it would be like to be doing street vending next to a neighbourhood of stores instead of just the usual market/event vending that I normally do.  I had a great time with my coworkers and I look forward to more opportunities like this in the future.

~ whole planet fundraiser round 2 ~

Another kick at the cup this Saturday at the Whole Foods Market Park Royal location.  Juice Caboose will be there again from 12-4 pm serving up fresh pressed juices and smoothies with 100% of the proceeds going to the Whole Planet Foundation.  My goal is to double our sales from the last event which equals $750.  That's 125 large/16 oz juices or smoothies.  Please come out and support the women and men of the world start their own businesses with a hand up, not hand out, by supporting the little local Juice Caboose that could!  XO.  S

I'm in love with this montage pic one of the Caboose's Twitter followers tweeted after the Winter Market St Paddy Day celebration on Saturday.  It was such a great market.  Super festive with lots of love and happiness floating around.  We had a great response to my Shamrock Shake, lots of Twitter love and new followers.  We were honoured to be considered one of the great choices at the market among such great Street Food Vendors.  Looking forward to more happy shiny days like this!  XO.  S

~ FUNdraising ~

I had sooo much fun raising funds for the Whole Planet Foundation on the weekend at my Whole Foods Market store in West Vancouver.  We raised $375 on an overcast day which will change the lives of two women with two microcredit loans.  How awesome is that!?  More awesome are my coworkers.  They passed it along to everyone that came in the store, they bought juices and smoothies, they hung out in the truck, they made announcements over the PA.  It was amazing! I'm totally in love with all of them!  And I'm looking forward to the next fundraising day on Saturday March 24th for another round!  I'm hoping for sunny weather and to double our sales! Hope you can make it out.  Thanks for all the support.
