Made it out to the pumpkin patch last week. Not THE pumpkin patch, so to speak. I'm still searching for THE pumpkin patch. Every year we hit a new one in search of THE one. Our search continues. This year, my focus was on finding a close one and combining carving time in the same afternoon with friends. We managed mostly. The patch we went to this year (the previous 3 years are here and here and here) was a local horse farm in the city that also has a garden and other animals. They added in a pumpkin patch as an addition for the fall. I still prefer to go to an actual patch and pick mine, but closeness was definitely a priority and this one suited us fine. They had a nice selection and the price of $5 per pumpkin was right.
I have some very photo friendly family and friends. It was nice to get my camera out and enjoy the time and space. I found it very challenging this summer to take pictures of all the events that I was at just because I was so darn busy working. I do want to challenge myself to get out in front of the camera more. My girlfriend offered and I was wearing a pretty adorable outfit and sporting a new hair colour, I should have said yes. Oh well.
Carving went well, although it doesn't seem to be quite finished. Personally, I just lied down on the floor face down mid carve. There was warm soup and jazzy music in the background. It was pretty irresistible. I'm looking forward to lighting them up tomorrow and of course, getting dressed up and making the rounds! Can't wait to see all the costumes and to show off ours! Xo. S
